Athletic Director and basketball coach Dean Stark has worked with the Sacramento Waldorf School for 37 years and has secured 17 league championships with his teams over that time.
In his tenure, he has been awarded the California State Boys Basketball Coach of the year, and the CIF Section and State Model Coach of the year honors. He also was named to the Sacramento Bee 2010’s Boys Basketball All Decade Coaching Staff.

The article highlighted the many facets of Stark’s inspiring insight to coaching that focuses on the values and principles of “teamwork, effort, love and loyalty.”
Stark has authored several books including A Waldorf Approach To Coaching Team Sports, and produced the video The Seven Defensive Principles Of Building A Championship Team. His new book is called, Uncommon: Inside My Coaching Career At Sacramento Waldorf.
