Opening Statement
The Denver Waldorf School (DWS) is seeking a qualified candidate to join our faculty and staff as a Winds/Brass Music Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. The Winds/Brass Music Teacher will teach group lessons to students in grades five through eight. The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong competency as a winds/band teacher and experience working with large groups of middle school students.

Founded in 1974, we are a fully accredited full member school of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America, the Waldorf Early Childhood Association and the Association of Colorado Independent Schools.
Essential Job Duties
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach seven weekly group classes for students in grades 5-8.
- Foster a love of music and instrumental performance among students.
- Establish clear expectations and boundaries while creating a supportive and engaging learning environment.
- Contribute to the school’s rich music program, helping students experience the joy of playing together as a community.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Strong musical proficiency with wind instruments and band instruction.
- Prior teaching experience, preferably with middle school students.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a collegial faculty setting.
- Passion for working with children and fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment.

Working Hours:
This is a part-time, hourly position beginning August 11, 2025, and continuing through May 29, 2026. The schedule follows the school calendar, with workdays aligning with days when school is in session, in addition to back to school meetings in August.
