Grades Strings Teacher
Opening Statement
The Eugene Waldorf School is seeking a warm and enthusiastic String Orchestra Instructor to teach our 4th – 8th grade classes for the 2025-26 school year. The position is part-time (around 17 hours per week).

Our school is located on a hilly five acres in a residential area of South Eugene, surrounded by many lovely trees. Our campus includes three playground areas, a large field, a Main Building housing the grades’ program, a Gardenside Building housing our EC programs, a Great Hall and an Art Studio.

Essential Job Duties
Applicants must have the ability to play violin, viola, and cello at an intermediate level or higher and have experience rehearsing student string ensembles. Commitment to excellence in teaching, self-development, and collegial cooperation are required. The applicant must have experience creating developmentally appropriate strings curriculum for 4th – 8th grade students.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in music and Waldorf teacher certification and/or experience preferred. Applicants must have the ability to pass a fingerprinted background check through the Oregon Central Background Registry and to obtain first aid/cpr certification upon hire.
Employment Details
Salary depends on education and experience. Part time benefits include: Simple IRA with 2% employer contribution, professional development funds, paid sick and personal days.
