Honolulu Waldorf School is seeking a warm-hearted and imaginative educator to guide our incoming Grade 1 class on their first steps into the grades for the 2025–2026 school year. This full-time position begins on August 1, 2025, offering the opportunity to step into the rhythm of our school community before the children arrive, preparing for the joyous journey ahead. Nestled in a vibrant, community-centered environment, our school is inspired by the rich traditions of Waldorf education and the unique spirit of Hawaii.
We are searching for a teacher who delights in nurturing the sense of wonder and curiosity in young children, works in harmony with families, and is eager to be an integral part of our supportive and collaborative team. The ideal candidate will bring prior experience in Waldorf grades teaching, a bachelor’s or master’s degree, and Waldorf teacher training. This individual will embody a dynamic approach to Waldorf pedagogy, bringing the curriculum to life with creativity and enthusiasm, and fostering meaningful connections with students, parents, and colleagues.

The Honolulu Waldorf School is an established coeducational, independent school serving students from Early Childhood through Grade 8. The school is located on a beautiful 2-acre campus in Niu Valley shaded by majestic monkeypod trees. We offer a full Waldorf curriculum, with specialty classes including Handwork, Hawaiian Studies, Japanese, Spanish, and Movement. Our campus is also home to a thriving Early Childhood program, and we have chickens, ducks, and gardens, which our students help care for.

Employment Details
HWS offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health & dental insurance, life insurance, participation in a 403b pension plan, paid holidays, a flex spending program, and a tuition remission package. Salary commensurate with experience; range is $49,000 – $82,000.
