First Grade Teacher/Lead Teacher
Opening Statement
The Eugene Waldorf School is seeking an experienced lead grades teacher for the first grade class, for the upcoming 2025-26 academic year.
About
Established in 1980, our school has deep roots in the local community and provides a comprehensive Waldorf education to students in preschool through eighth grade. Our four-acre campus is nestled in the southwest hills of Eugene, Oregon which is a vibrant, artistic, and eco-conscious community. Eugene is located at the south end of the Willamette Valley with a rich cultural life and offers an abundance of natural beauty and outdoor recreation in the Pacific Northwest.
Essential Job Duties
In addition to lesson planning and classroom teaching, lead teachers are expected to meet and work with current and prospective parents, hold parent-teacher conferences, and prepare student reports. To support healthy collaboration in the school, each teacher works with a mentor, attends weekly faculty meetings, assists with school events, joins in committee work, and attends ongoing training/professional development.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree, a Waldorf teacher training certificate, and experience teaching in a Waldorf school. They need to be able to pass a fingerprinted background check.
