About

Founded in 1993, BVWS is a Pre-KG through Eighth Grade independent not-for-profit school. We offer a full Waldorf curriculum, including Spanish, woodworking, handwork, movement, and instrumental and orchestral music. Our full-time teachers represent a rich spectrum of life experiences along with their strengths as Waldorf educators

Essential Job Duties

Our school is set on a five-acre campus within 38 acres of school-owned agricultural land. Midway between two very livable and thriving medium-sized cities (Boulder and Longmont) our school campus provides a wonderful rural atmosphere for festivals and community life and contributes substantially to a rich curriculum supported by enthusiastic and experienced teachers, devoted, hard-working parents, and a healthy, energetic student body. The region is an ideal mix of rural and urban, with farms and extensive open space giving way in one direction to the vibrant college town of Boulder and in the other direction to Longmont, rated one of the best places to live in the US. Our pioneering Sensible Tuition model makes Waldorf education affordable to a wide range of families.

Niwot is located along the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, about an hour’s drive north of Denver and close to world-class hiking and skiing. Situated near the center of Boulder County, our school draws from Longmont, Boulder, Lafayette, Louisville, and the surrounding unincorporated areas. Boulder County is home to the University of Colorado, a booming technology and startup culture, and numerous local organizations that provide a rich variety of galleries, performances, and workshops. It is frequently ranked among the top ten best places to live in the United States and is connected to the world by Denver International Airport, rated best large airport in the US.

In addition to Anthroposophical communities in Boulder and Denver, the Colorado Front Range area supports five elementary Waldorf Schools, three Waldorf high schools (two of which are in nearby Boulder), several independent Waldorf Kindergartens, and numerous Waldorf home and day groups, several biodynamic farms (including the one on our campus) and a variety of Anthroposophical study groups and initiatives.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.
