Opening Statement

The Faculty Administrator shares the vision of collaborative leadership, creating an environment of stability and balance that allows the school to fulfill its mission and each member of the staff to fulfill their responsibilities.

The Administrative Council (AC) is made up of the Business Administrator who guides and leads  business affairs; the Community Development Administrator who guides and leads community building and development; and the Faculty Administrator who guides and leads the Pedagogical health of our curriculum and faculty.

The Administrative Council is responsible for oversight and support of daily operations, including school programs, personnel, facilities and resources, while effectively advancing strategic goals for school improvement.

Since 1991, Waldorf School on the Roaring Fork (WSRF) has been delivering students and families in the Roaring Fork Valley a dynamic, engaging Waldorf Curriculum that nurtures life long learners, flexible thinkers and creative problem solvers. Waldorf School on the Roaring Fork’s strengths start with our physical foundation. We are fortunate to own our 13-acre property adorned with green-certified straw bale buildings, green play-space and extensive wetlands.

The school has over 200 students, early childhood – 8th Grade, as well as a thriving Parent-Child Program. The faculty, staff and board are a dedicated team. All full-time and lead teachers are trained or working toward Waldorf training. Our faculty collaborate effectively to bring well-rounded and individualized education to each student, and there is a team atmosphere amongst the faculty.

Essential Job Duties

Job Description of the Faculty Administrator

  • Is an organized systems-thinker who embodies and communicates policies and procedures with warmth and accessibility.
  • As a member of the Administrative Council, performs the necessary administrative tasks.
  • Leads and manages a team of Faculty members while maintaining a macro view of the school.
  • Can facilitate timely and regular communication to the Faculty and community.
  • Maintains a visible presence in the daily rhythm of the school community, including morning drop-off, Friday assemblies, events, and festivals.
  • Serves as the point of contact for parent concerns that pertain to school pedagogy or for issues that have not been resolved through due process between Faculty and Parent(s).
  • Supports Student Support, Enrollment and AC by participating in parent-teacher conferences, tours, and external communications. The FA ensures all marketing and advertising reflects the school’s pedagogical mission.
  • Oversees and administers the Accreditation process as it pertains to pedagogical expectations.
  • Maintains a professional commitment to working with Enrollment around student retention.

  • Prior administrative and teaching experience in a Waldorf school.

  • Leads with equanimity.
  • Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Invested in our community and possesses an interest and curiosity in our student and parent body.
