Opening Statement

The Waldorf School of Saratoga Springs is seeking a Eurythmy teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative teacher to bring Eurythmy to students in Grades 1-8 for a 6-week block, or up to the full year. The position requires a high level of organization, a genuine love of teaching and learning, and the desire and facility to collaborate with colleagues and participate in faculty work. The ideal candidate must also have familiarity or interest in best practices of Waldorf education.

The Waldorf School of Saratoga Springs (WSSS) was founded in 1981 and currently serves approximately 140 children from preschool through Grade 8. WSSS has an Absolute Charter from the New York State Education Department, is accredited by the New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS), and is a full member of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA) as well as the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America (WECAN). 

Our eclectic downtown campus is spread over three historic buildings, two of which are within walking distance of each other in the small city of Saratoga Springs, NY, while our Early Childhood Forest campus is located on state park land, two miles outside of town. Our location offers four delightful seasons and proximity to both wilderness and major cities while providing a comfortable small-town feel. Saratoga Springs offers many world class cultural events, and is host to the New York City Ballet and the Philadelphia Orchestra during the summer. 

Essential Job Duties

The Eurythmy Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and developmentally appropriate eurythmy instruction to students from first through eighth grade as well as other teaching duties including supporting class plays and assemblies.

  • Bring engaging Eurythmy and movement experiences to students
  • Support for school assembly performances
  • Participation in the school’s festival life
  • Occasional evening events such as parent evenings and open houses

Qualifications

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree and a recognized eurythmy diploma. They should have a strong interest in and appreciation for Waldorf education, along with a commitment to professional growth through ongoing education in Waldorf teaching. The role requires versatility, enthusiasm, punctuality, and creativity to engage and inspire students effectively.

Employment Details

This is a part-time position. 

Compensation ranges from $50-$65/hour based on experience and number of weeks engaged. 

Start Date: September 2025/variable

School Year: September 2, 2025 – June 11, 2026
