Opening Statement

The Austin Waldorf School is seeking a warm and enthusiastic eurythmy teacher to join our faculty. We are looking for an experienced, certified educator with a proven ability to teach multiple grade levels and a desire to contribute to our vibrant Waldorf community. Eurythmy is a central element of our curriculum, and our dedicated eurythmy spaces—including a specialized classroom, recital hall, and theater—enable rich artistic exploration. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

AWS has an outstanding faculty who fosters a spirit of collaboration and innovation and are deeply committed to Waldorf pedagogy and anthroposophy. Our program includes eurythmy, music, choir, strings & orchestra, handwork, arts, woodwork, as well as Spanish and German. Subject teachers joining our team are supported by the section directors and  a collaborative faculty.

About

AWS is an established school community with an enrollment of approximately 400 students. Our picturesque 33-acre campus consists of four kindergartens, eight grade school classrooms, a nine-classroom high school, including a state-of-the-art science lab, a library, handwork room, performing arts center, gymnasium, eurythmy hall, art studio, school store, gardens, and playgrounds. Community events, such as festivals, concerts, plays, athletics, and adult education classes create an atmosphere of cultural enrichment. We are fully accredited by the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA) and the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest (ISAS)

Essential Job Duties

Responsibilities

  • Provide full-time eurythmy instruction across a variety of grade levels
  • Offer performances of student work and support seasonal festivals and class plays
  • Participate in weekly departmental meetings
  • Contribute to parent meetings and curricular presentations
  • Collaborate with student support services and colleagues
  • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and fellow faculty

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Eurythmy Training Certification (required)
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
  • Demonstrated success teaching eurythmy to different age groups
  • Commitment to Waldorf principles and philosophy
