Green Meadow Waldorf School is seeking a full-time Educational Support Coordinator to anchor our excellent educational support services program, early childhood through twelfth grade. The Educational Support Coordinator is central to the overall health of our school, developing open, trusting relationships with parents, students, and therapeutic and support services providers. Excellent organizational, administrative, and communication skills are essential.
About
The Green Meadow Waldorf School was founded in 1950 and serves parent-child through twelfth-grade students. Our beautiful school is on a 140-acre campus with a farm, forests, streams, and gardens. Being part of the Threefold Educational Foundation community allows us to work together with sister organizations such as the Pfeiffer Center for Biodynamics, the Fibercraft Studio, the Eurythmy School, the Fellowship Community, Sunbridge, Otto Specht School, the Co-op, etc. Our Farm Kindergarten is on the Duryea Farm, a working biodynamic farm within the multigenerational Fellowship Community.
Essential Job Duties
The Educational Support Coordinator’s overarching role is a proactive, collaborative approach to identifying student needs and support. They coordinate the educational, therapeutic, and medical support aspects of the Green Meadow Waldorf School (GMWS) education program, working collaboratively in a leadership role with students, teachers, parents, school counselor, educational support tutors, therapists, school district support programs, school admissions director, and school administration, with the overall goal to identify, guide and coordinate best supports and/or placement for students with neurodiverse needs within GMWS’ agreed upon resources.
The Educational Support Coordinator is responsible for school-wide efforts to support students EC through grade 12 in developing pre-academic skills and grade-level academics. The Coordinator is an active Admissions team member, identifying supports needed for newly admitted students and identifying students who may not be best supported at Green Meadow. The Coordinator has broad knowledge and understanding of Waldorf pedagogy, has training and experience in a variety of educational remediation disciplines.
Qualifications
- BS, MS preferred, in education or other relevant field, ideally training in Waldorf remedial methods
- 3-5 years of experience working within a Waldorf School, preferably in student support
- Collaborative leadership skills
- Proven ability to mobilize a proactive, collaborative approach in identifying student needs and appropriate supports
- Excellent communication, verbal and written
- Proven track record working with parents and students K-12 with diverse learning abilities and challenges
- Training and experience in working with a variety of educational remediation and support disciplines
- Excellent administrative skills
- Broad knowledge and understanding of Waldorf pedagogy
Employment Details
This is a full-time salaried position; Green Meadow offers a competitive salary and benefits package. Compensation is based on relevant experience and educational background. Familiarity and or experience with Waldorf Education is a plus.
