Early Childhood Summer Camp Teacher

Job Category:  Early Childhood

Opening Statement

The Early Childhood Summer Camp Teacher has the traditional responsibilities of a teacher working with children ages 3 to rising first grade. Enrolled campers will be a mix of current Waldorf students, students who are joining for the 2025-26 school year, and children whose parents are interested in Waldorf education or otherwise have a connection to the school.

An understanding of, or openness to, Waldorf Education is highly desirable. Teachers work closely with the Auxiliary Program Coordinator (who manages camp logistics and family communication), and an assigned Lead Teacher (who plans and oversees the daily rhythm and flow of the week).

About

The Brooklyn Waldorf School provides a holistic, arts-integrated education rooted in Waldorf pedagogy, fostering critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and creativity. Located in Bedford-Stuyvesant, BWS serves over 160 students from Pre-K through Grade 8 and is committed to inclusivity, equity, and community values.

BWS is an equal opportunity employer. Individuals from historically underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply.
