Choir Teacher
Opening Statement
The Minnesota Waldorf School is seeking an experienced and joyful Choir Teacher to lead our choral program. This teacher will be working with 4th through 8th grades.
About
Our school was founded in 1981, and is dual accredited by the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America and ISACS. We provide PK-8 education to 175 students from the Twin Cities region. The current main school building was completed in 2000. It features a beautiful festival hall, separate early childhood cottage, light-filled classrooms and natural setting. We enjoy our location on eight beautiful acres replete with chickens, gardens and room to explore just north of St. Paul.
The school has a strong festival and community life. We currently offer a rotation of subject classes including movement/games, handwork/woodwork, Spanish, and choir/ensemble. The Growing Together program supports parents and children from birth to age 5. We have a growing educational support and extra lesson team.
The Twin Cities are home to strong cultural and artistic communities, globally celebrated restaurants and rich parks and biking cultures. Only hours away from the School are the Northwoods wilderness areas and Lake Superior where one can enjoy pristine natural areas and recreational actives such as hiking, camping, fishing, and canoeing/kayaking. The Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area itself surrounds the convergence of the Mississippi and Minnesota Rivers, which, along with an extensive system of lakes, provide parks and wild spaces within a vibrant urban setting. Minneapolis and St. Paul are home to the University of Minnesota and a number of nationally recognized private colleges and universities, as well as many community and two-year institutions.
Our sister school, City of Lakes Waldorf School, is 20 minutes away in Minneapolis. Within an hour of the school a Camphill Community and two Camphill-inspired farms spare. The local Anthroposophical Society chapter offers regular meetings, study, artistic and events.
