If the skills taught in school are lost so easily, then what happens when people finally finish school and go on to life outside of it? Won’t the skills be lost then?
 
...Very often people writing about the summer slide seem to assume that the only learning that is important is learning that occurs in school and is measured on school tests. It’s amazing to me how often this assumption goes unchallenged."
