Jeff Zhou, a rising senior at San Francisco Waldorf High School, recently wrote an essay about his experiences with the Unistellar and SETI Institute science team at Seti.org.
Zhou was inspired to do his senior project exoplanets and their potential habitability after a presentation given at school by SETI Institute Planetary Astronomer Dr. Franck Marchis. Zhou says, “The presentation sparked my curiosity about the big question: are we alone in the universe? I wanted to learn how scientists search for answers to big questions about the universe.”
Since the presentation Zhou has made observations with the Unistellar eVscope, a digital smart telescope; participated in a Galaxy Explorers meeting at the Chabot Space and Science Center; and met with scientists at the SETI Institute office in San Francisco.
