SUMMARY: The Lower School Resource Teacher works with and supports lower school teachers in identifying, developing, and applying assessment and instructional intervention strategies designed to improve student learning in specific areas.

With over 35 years of educational success as a College led school, we continue to joyfully welcome new students each year, from kindergarten through high school. Today, we proudly serve more than 350 students across all grade levels. Our expansive campus, located less than three miles from the Pacific Ocean, is surrounded by a large park and nature preserve, providing a beautiful setting for learning. Essential Job Duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This list is meant to be representative, not exhaustive. - Work in collaboration with EC teachers to organize and facilitate first grade readiness
- Work with individual students, kindergarten to grade 4
- Create and oversee implementation of educational plans with lower school teachers
- Manage assessment for lower school applicants
- Collaborate with Admission Director on new student applicants and attend related interviews
- Facilitate and interpret academic assessments
- Teach support classes and/or blocks as designated
- Provide substitution as needed for lower school classrooms
- Assist with the selection and production of instructional and supplementary materials/supplies
- Track and maintain learning goals and strategies
- Proctor any tests that require more time or other accommodations
- Attend related meetings (Care Group, Faculty, etc.)
- Maintain necessary documentation for students’ records
- Continue professional growth through participation in educational opportunities
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree
Certificate in Waldorf Teacher Training
Extra Lesson Certificate
Credentialed Teacher and/or Educational Therapist Certificate
IEP/504 familiarity and/or experience
PREFERRED/DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Educational Therapist experience
Resource Specialist Certificate
Advanced Degree in Education

We offer full remission, a generous benefits package, and competitive compensation (range of $64,700 to $84,500 annually)
