Math Specialist Teacher
River Valley Waldorf School is seeking a Mathematics Specialist teacher to teach mathematics skills classes to grades 5-8, and support small group mathematics intervention for the 2025-2026 school year. The position requires authentic warmth, good humor, joy, creativity, and enthusiasm for teaching as well as the capacity to meet diverse learner needs and excellent knowledge of mathematics skills scope and sequence elementary through high school. Our school has a strong faculty of dynamic teachers, growing enrollment, effective leadership, and committed parents. We seek colleagues who share a vision for social justice through Waldorf Education. Ideal candidates will have a passion for Waldorf education, be willing to commit to ongoing work of diversity, equity, and inclusion, experience in elementary/middle school education, and the inter- and intra-personal skills to partner with parents and collaborate with colleagues.

About River Valley Waldorf School
The 7-acres of River Valley Waldorf School sits on forested hills that overlook the Delaware River on unceded Lenni-Lenape land. We are so grateful for the First Nations people’s reverent caretaking of the land we now call Upper Black Eddy, Pennsylvania. Upper Black Eddy is located in Bucks County and only 40-60 minutes from major metropolitan areas. Our programs include a caretaker-child program, mixed-age early childhood classes, and grades one through eight. The River Valley Waldorf community strives to be supportive, and welcoming, and the school has recently deepened its commitment to diversity and equity initiatives. The school is a full member of the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America (WECAN) and is accredited by both the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA) and the Pennsylvania Association of Independent Schools (PAIS).
Essential Job Duties
General Description
Bring the joy and beauty of mathematics to students in grades 5-8th grades in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Teach math skills and middle school mathematics main lesson blocks as needed while collaborating with and supported by middle school class teachers. Collaborate with Educational Support team to support students in need of remediation and specialized instruction.

Qualifications
Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree, a commitment to Waldorf education, and proven capacities for teaching. Waldorf teaching training is strongly preferred for this position.
Required training obtained during employment may include:
- CPR and First Aid
- Mandated Reporter Training
- Stewards of Children – Darkness to Light
- Racial Equity: Anti-bias Training
Employment Details
Hours and Compensation
This is an 80% full-time position. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and the jointly agreed upon schedule.
Salary ranges from $32,000 – $48,000 based on education and experience.
