Opening Statement

The Waldorf School of Philadelphia is seeking an Early Childhood Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.

Essential Job Duties

Teachers at the Waldorf School of Philadelphia form a faculty consciously and purposefully working with the philosophy, pedagogy and curriculum of Waldorf education. Participation in our colleagueship requires the sincere commitment of each member to the goals and responsibilities of the group as a whole. The individual responsibilities and expectations of an Early Childhood teacher include the following:

  • Development and presentation of curriculum
  • Understanding and awareness of the Child
  • A solid understanding of Teacher-Student relationships
  • Maintaining collegial relationships
  • Cultivating a mutually respectful relationship with classroom assistant
  • Understanding First grade readiness for kindergarten students
  • Cultivating of Teacher-Parent communication and relationships

The cultivation of effective classroom management skills as well as attention to age-appropriate mood and tone is essential to the success of the Early Childhood teacher.

Qualifications

To join our dynamic team, you’ll already have a Bachelors, and you’ll either be fully trained in Waldorf education or on your way to becoming fully qualified. You adopt a holistic approach to teaching that aligns with Waldorf pedagogy and values, and you consider all aspects of child development, including the need for differentiated learning approaches.
