First Grade Teacher (2024-2025)
Opening Statement
Aurora Waldorf School is currently accepting applications for the full-time First-Grade Teacher position for immediate hire. The position is currently held by an interim teacher. The teacher stays with the students for multiple years, moving through the grades. Depending on future enrollment, they may be required to teach combined grades.
The hours will be 7:45 a.m.–3:15 p.m., Monday through Friday, with occasional weeknight or weekend work for parent meetings and school activities. There are also weekly meetings that currently end at 4:30 and twice-yearly workdays. Faculty workdays are at the end of August and mid-June. School begins in September and ends in June.
The ideal candidate will have a Waldorf Teacher Training certificate, experience as a lead classroom teacher, preferably in a Waldorf school, a Master’s Degree in a subject area, or equivalent professional experience and CPR/First Aid certification.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree and demonstrate the ability to teach various grades and skill levels. Candidates will be given more details during the interview.
Full-Time Faculty Job Description
This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits, including partial tuition remission and health benefits.
Starting annual salary is $31,000.
